Please read the Tripmia Terms and Conditions carefully before using this site.

By using this site, you unconditionally agree and accept to be legally bound by the Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree with any part of the Terms and Conditions, you must not use this site.

Most products and services (such as airline tickets) have their specific governing terms and conditions which shall apply in addition to the Terms and Conditions. A summary of these additional terms and conditions may be available during the purchase process, or in other parts of this site.

Legal Information

This website, along with the Tripmia mobile site and mobile and tablet applications is intended for personal, non-commercial use.

These terms and conditions apply to the services available through this Site. The Terms and Conditions describe your responsibilities and, among other things, limits the liability of tripmia.com.au and its third-party suppliers or providers including, without limitation, the airlines, hotels, rental car companies and other suppliers that provide travel or other services through this Site. Tripmia reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to amend, modify, or alter these Terms and Conditions at any time by posting the amended terms on this Site. We recommend that you review these terms and conditions periodically.

When you make a booking with us, Tripmia, legal obligations arise and your right to refund of monies charged to your credit card or paid in any other way agreed by us, are limited by our terms and policies and by the conditions of the particular supplier.

It is your responsibility to ensure that all of the details on your travel documents are correct. Please verify the itinerary before you make the final payment, any errors will be the traveller's liability after the final payment has been made.

Your contract will either be with us (Tripmia) or with another supplier of travel services, and this will depend on the type of arrangements you book.

Once payment is made for the booking, it is deemed that you have agreed to our Terms and Conditions and Fare Rules for the booking. Please email us at info@tripmia.com.au if you have any questions about the booking Fare Rules or Terms and Conditions.

Bookings

Tripmia is reliant on the airline or supplier for the availability of seats, airfare rules and their associated pricing levels; Tripmiareserves the right to amend your booking in consultation with you in the event of an error by these third parties. In such circumstances, additional fare charges may have to be paid by you, and your itinerary may need to be changed to comply with either the fare rule and/or availability of seats.

In the event of an error by the tour or hotel operator/supplier to which the booking relates or, in the circumstances beyond Tripmia’s control, the hotel operator/supplier advises that it is unable to provide bookings at a price advertised on the http://www.tripmia.com.au website, Tripmia reserves the right to amend your tour or hotel booking in consultation with you. In such circumstances, additional charges may have to be paid by you for the tour or hotel bookings.

At times, generally within 24 hours of a reservation being made, travel providers/suppliers may reject the reservation/s made by you through the Tripmia online booking facility. In these cases, Tripmia will do its best to provide you with a viable alternative at the same or lower price than the initially quoted price. If however, a viable option is not available, Tripmia will refund any amounts previously charged to your credit card, PayPal account or through net banking. Tripmia’s only obligation in these cases will be to use best endeavours to provide you with a viable alternative, or to refund any amounts already charged to your credit card, PayPal or through net banking.

Your Obligations Account and Information Access

To use the TripmiaOnline Booking Facility, you may be required to create an online account including an account password and provide personal information, including in some cases passport details, home address, mobile numbers, billing information, any other information reasonably required by Tripmiato complete your booking.

You are responsible for all use of the services, and all transactions entered into using the services, under your Account. Tripmia takes no responsibility for any transactions which may occur as a result of a disclosure by you of your password to third parties or through any unauthorised access to your personal information.

You indemnify Tripmia from and against all actions, claims, suits, demands, liabilities, costs or expenses arising out of or in any way connected to use of the services by you or any other person using your membership identification, account or password.

Your Obligations Booking and Payment Details

You must only access and use tripmia.com.au to make enquiries about and bookings for travel products, hotel rights and packages. Bookings must be in accordance with these terms which include but are not limited to: having sufficient credit on your credit card account to meet all charges for travel products, being 18 years or over at the time of booking, hotel rights and/or packages you book through Tripmia’s website. Keeping secure any means of identification that Tripmia provides to you to access the online booking facility. You must comply with all requirements of the travel product you've booked, including any product terms and conditions.

It is your obligation that you must not access or use the services supplied by Tripmia for any activities which breach

  • Any laws

  • Infringe any third party's rights

  • Breach any standards

  • Content requirements or codes promulgated by any relevant authority in any way which interferes with other users

  • Defames harasses or menaces anyone for any purpose (commercial or otherwise) other than the permitted purpose without express written permission from Tripmia

  • Any reproduction, data mining, automated querying or similar data extraction processing

  • Reverse or cancel a payment without Tripmia’s prior written consent

  • Resell the services, travel products, hotel rights or packages or any other products and services

  • Permit any other person to use your user identification to access the services, or grant a third party the right to access and use the services

It is your responsibility to assess the suitability of any travel products, hotel rights and packages for your needs and all matters relating to complying with the laws and regulations of all immigration authorities of the countries you travel to and from.

Credit Card Payments

Tripmia will accept specific Credit Cards and will review the list of accepted Credit Cards from time to time.

A surcharge may apply for credit card transactions when paid by a card other than VISA or MasterCard.

Before your ticket is issued or any travel booking is confirmed, various checks are taking place to validate the integrity of credit card information. In certain circumstances, the credit card holder will be required to submit verification documentation to substantiate identity.

In circumstances where we cannot contact the cardholder or documentation is not received and the ticket issuance period lapses thereby making the booking invalid, we will have no choice but to cancel the booked arrangements. Under these circumstances, we accept no responsibility for any re-booking costs.

Notwithstanding any verification that we do to verify the card holder's identity, Tripmia reserves the right to refuse payments via credit card if, at its sole discretion, it deems the risk to be too high. You will be given other payment options for purchasing your travel.

Upon payment you authorise our agents to disclose your credit card details to and obtain information from, any financial institution or credit card issuer to verify the credit card and identification details that you provide. You also authorise your credit card issuer or financial institution to verify that the credit card and identification details you have provided to us are accurate. You authorise Tripmiato to take steps to confirm that there is sufficient credit on your credit card account to meet likely charges. For any payment by credit card, airline tickets and other documentation will not be issued until authorisation has been obtained from the relevant card company.

Any confirmed booking is subject to your credit card approval for the transaction. In the case where your credit card is not approved, we will attempt to contact you but hold no responsibility for any subsequent non-provision of services in the event we are unable to establish contact with you.

By booking with Tripmiayou agree to us supplying your billing, payment and identification information to third parties with whom you enter into transactions using the Service. We may also provide such personal information to third parties as is required to complete your booking. You accept that the recipients of this disclosure may not have in place privacy Policies equivalent to Trip Mia.

If, for any reason, any travel service provider (including airlines) do not provide the products or service which you have contracted to acquire, the liability is against the provider only and not against us. If payment for such a product or service was made to Tripmia by credit card, by accepting these booking conditions, you agree that you will not seek to charge back your credit card payment to Trip Mia.

Net Banking and PayPal Payments

Payments for travel services are accepted through Net Banking and Paypal.

If payment for such a product or service was made to Tripmia by PayPal, by accepting these booking conditions, you agree that you will not seek to charge back your PayPal account to Tripmia.

Bookings from outside Australia

We reserve the right at our absolute discretion to decline or accept bookings made from outside Australia. Any automatic booking confirmations for such bookings are conditional contingent on our view of any financial risks, potential ticket despatch delays, or other international regulations that may apply.

Booking Fees and Service Fees

A Standard Booking Fee applies per person, per booking as advertised. There are no Booking Fees that apply to International Airfares. Trans-Tasman (e.g. New Zealand) airfares may attract booking fees. Any Payment and Service Fee is charged by Tripmia in its own capacity (as merchant), and not as an agent for any other party. Payment and Service Fees cover a range of costs, services, fees and charges in relation to your booking, including (among other things, for example, fraud prevention) the reasonable costs of accepting card payments. Any Payment and Service fees will be shown in the price of your booking on the review page.

Telephone Change Fees

If you wish to process your change, cancellation or name change with Tripmia over the phone, you will be charged an additional fee of $55 per person (Telephone Change Fee). This fee is charged on top of the administration and airline/hotel fees that will be charged.

Agency

Tripmia sells products and services as an agent for an airline and wholesale companies and other suppliers providing services, including accommodation and transportation services. Tripmia is, not a provider of services and has no responsibility for services provided or not provided by any party. We give and make no warranty or representation regarding the standard of any service or product to be supplied, and no person has authority to make any such representation or warranty on behalf of Trip Mia. All tickets, coupons, exchange orders, vouchers and receipts are issued subject to the appropriate tariffs and terms and conditions of sale of suppliers and these terms. They are issued by Tripmia as agent only. We have no responsibility, and extend no guarantees for discontinued promotions, airfares or specific holiday products.

Force Majeure – Changes beyond our control

Compensation will not apply if a significant change is made for reasons beyond our control.

These include:

“war, threat of war, riots, epidemics, health risks, civil disturbances,  terrorist activity,  industrial disputes, natural and nuclear disasters,  fire, changes due to rescheduling or cancellation of flights by an airline or alteration of the airline or aircraft type, closed or congested airports or ports, hurricanes and other actual or potential severe weather conditions, act of government or public authorities or other circumstances amounting to force majeure and/or Acts of God”

Tripmia cannot accept liability or responsibility for any airline or supplier bankruptcy or insolvency and the failure to provide any services which may follow.

Cancellation and Refunds

Booking cancellations will incur charges. These charges can be up to 100% of the cost of booking, regardless of whether travel has commenced. Please read the terms & conditions carefully including fare rules to check whether the fare is refundable, as not all fares can be refunded. Fees will apply to all refundable tickets. Our TripmiaAdmin Fee is $150 per passenger plus any airline cancellation fees. This will vary depending on the airfare you have booked. For some fares no refund is available, check your specific fare rules carefully.

Infant tickets are always non-refundable, Bookings Cancelled 2 days before the travel date are non-refundable. Tripmia Booking Fees are non-refundable. Refunds will not be provided in the case of inclement weather or illness; these must be claimed through your Travel Insurance.

Refunds will only be paid to you once we have received the funds back from the supplier(s). Generally, flight tickets cannot be refunded if they are partially used as this is beyond the control of Tripmia. If the reason for your cancellation is covered under the terms of your travel insurance policy, you may be able to reclaim your cancellation charges through your insurer.

Refunds take approximately 14 to 18 weeks to process; this is beyond the control of Tripmia. Where we incur any liability for a cancellation fee for any booking, which you cancel, you agree to indemnify us for the amount of that fee or charge.

Cancellation or refund will only be processed if you have applied for this online through our Communicate with Us page.

Changes & Reissue Fees

Where changes to your travel arrangements are permitted and possible by the supplier, Tripmia will charge you a Standard Administration fee of $125 per passenger per change in addition to all charges applied by the supplier including Tax and Fare Difference.  

By confirming the booking, you are accepting the specific ticket conditions relating to your chosen fare. Changes are subject to availability and are subject to the validity of your ticket - for details check the ticket conditions in the fare selected.

Not all fares allow changes, so please check your fare conditions carefully before purchase. Changes outside the validity of your ticket, for example, to a higher season, a different airline, operator or ticketed route, where these are possible, will result in additional charges on top of Standard Administration Fees.

Flights must be taken in the sequence they appear on your ticket or electronic ticket confirmation. If you plan not to make a trip as booked, please contact the airline as far in advance as possible to discuss your options. If you do not check in on time for a confirmed reservation, the airline may register you as a 'no-show', which could result in extra charges and your whole flight itinerary will be cancelled and render your ticket void. Where we incur any liability for a charge or re-issue for any booking, you agree to indemnify us for the amount of that fee or charge.

Name Changes

It is the responsibility of the passenger to ensure that all travellers’ names are as per their passports. Payment confirmation is an approval that all names are as per the passport and tickets will be issued.

All airline tickets must be issued in the name of the passport/photo identity holder; some carriers will deny carriage if the name varies and the booking may be cancelled.

Any errors in names on your documentation will be your responsibility. Name changes will incur fees. For name changes, our admin fee is $40 per ticket plus any airline fees.

Name Change requests will only be processed if you have applied for this online through our Communicate With Us page.

Combination of Airline Fares

If you are travelling with combination fares of two or more airlines, Tripmia is not responsible for any flight delays, re-schedules or cancellations by the airlines.

Tripmia is not responsible for the supply of services on these flights; requests for assistance, meal, and seat are requests only and will only be confirmed by the respective airlines at the time of check-in.

Please also check the baggage weight allowance for each airline before departure.

Schedule Changes and Cancellations by the Airlines

At times airlines may change their flight schedule or cancel flights.

Tripmia is not responsible for any schedule changes/flight cancellations by the airline after issuance of the tickets.

Tripmia will do its utmost to contact you by phone and email if any schedule change or cancellation by the airline is notified to us.

It is the traveller’s responsibility to check at least 48 hours before departure for any schedule changes/flight cancellations.

Special Conditions for some Travel Products

The terms displayed on this website generally apply to all the products and packages sold by Tripmia.

Some products also have special conditions applying to them. Airlines, hotels, wholesalers and other suppliers have various other terms and conditions relating to the purchase of these goods and services.

Some of those terms will be displayed in the Rules applicable to a particular product, but not all. For example, suppliers often limit or exclude liability in respect of death, personal injury, delay and loss or damage to baggage however, we do not have those conditions to display.

It is your responsibility to check those terms and conditions before making a booking through Trip Mia.

Numerous rules and regulations are affecting the most advance purchase and other discounted airfares, which involve substantial cancellation or amendment fees, and in some instances, there are no refunds whatsoever on cancelled holidays and or air tickets should you need to amend or cancel your travel plans. If you have any queries regarding these fees, please do not hesitate to contact us via our Communicate With Us page on our website.

You must read the Rules and check the conditions applicable to every airfare and ensure that you accept those Rules and conditions before you make a booking. If the Rules and Conditions are not displayed, you should contact us via our Communicate With Us page on our website. Once you confirm a booking and make a payment, you are bound by the Rules and Conditions applicable to the relevant supplier.

Travel Documents and Visas

All individuals departing from Australia must be in possession of a valid passport.

It is your responsibility to fulfil the passport, visa and other immigration requirements applicable to your itinerary. You need a valid passport for all international travel.

Most countries require that your passport is valid for at least six months beyond your expected period of travel. If your passport is due to expire within six months of your return/ arrival back in Australia then under normal circumstances, you should obtain a new passport.

The name provided by you for your travel tickets must be the same as that in your passport. Any errors in names on your documentation will be your responsibility. Name changes will incur fees. For name changes, our admin fee is $40 per ticket plus any airline fees. It is your responsibility to ensure that you have all the documentation you need for your journey.

Check your visa, transit visa and passport conditions before confirming your booking with Tripmia. Visa’s, Transit Visa’s and Passport requirements are the traveller’s responsibility, and Tripmia takes no responsibility for the provision of these documents.

Visas are obtained from the issuing authority in Australia, and you should confirm these with the relevant High Commissions, embassies and consulates.

Visa requirements vary for different countries you are travelling and the current citizenship you hold, please ensure you check well in advance of your travel dates to allow sufficient processing time as required by the embassy.

Some destinations where you may Transit require a Transit Visa, please check with the relevant authority if this is needed. Tripmia takes no responsibility where any airline refuses travel due to documentation. Most produc authorities may not allow you to pass through customs and board your flight without the appropriate visa. 

Some countries will not allow you to enter without proof of a return or onward electronic or paper ticket. Airline check-in Staff at your point of origin may deny boarding you. If you proceed to book a one-way ticket, please ensure you have checked with the Consulate of the country you are travelling to ensure that you comply with their laws and regulations.

Tripmia does not accept any responsibility in the case of you being unable to travel due to not complying with such requirements. Any fees, penalties or payments incurred as a result of documents not meeting the needs of the immigration or government authorities is the passenger's sole responsibility, and Tripmia does do not accept liability in this case.

By agreeing to the purchase of the tickets, Tripmia assumes that you will make arrangements for the required visas.

Tripmia cannot accept responsibility for the content or accuracy of information provided on any external websites, not within Tripmia’s control.

Baggage Allowances

Baggage allowance varies depending on airlines; the baggage allowance for your booking is shown on your E-Ticket.

Domestic Bookings will not always include baggage, check before confirming booking if luggage is included for those bookings.

It is the travellers’ responsibility to check the baggage allowance for each passenger before travel. Tripmia takes no responsibility for any excess baggage charges at the time of check-in.

Travel Advice and Vaccinations

Australian residents should refer to the travel advice posted by the Department of Foreign Affairs at http://www.dfat.gov.au/ orhttp://www.smarttraveller.gov.au/ for all the countries you intend to visit. Vaccinations may be required for some or all of the places you plan to visit. It is your responsibility to ensure that you have arranged all necessary vaccinations for your itinerary.

Rates and Price Variations

We reserve the right to vary published rates in the event of changes in exchange rates or price rises made by wholesalers or other suppliers. If the cost of any service increases due to exchange rate fluctuations, price increases, tax changes or any other reason, you must pay the increase when notified. We are not liable in any way if any increase occurs.

Fares quoted are subject to change at any time and cannot be guaranteed. It is the responsibility of the traveller to check the fare before proceeding with payment. Tripmia takes no responsibility where fares have changed before issuance of tickets.

Unless otherwise specified, rates quoted are per tour, per night accommodation, per crossing ferries, per package; as appropriate to the particular product. Car rental is based on a 24 hour period commencing from the time of pick-up throughout unless otherwise specified. All prices are subject to availability and can be withdrawn or varied without notice.

Special Requests

Special requests including meal; seat; bassinet; wheelchair; assistance; hotel is subject to availability and confirmation by the airline.

Tripmia will pass the request to the airline for the service, however, cannot confirm the provision of such service. Even if a booking/ticket displays a confirmed status for special requests, it is only a confirmation that the airline has received the request and not a confirmation of provision of that service.

Tripmia does not take any responsibility if these requests are not confirmed or provided by the airline at the time of travel.

Final confirmation will only be given by the airline at the time of check-in.

Bassinet requests are only available for infants no older than 6 months and/or weighing no more than 10kg. All bassinet requests will be confirmed by the airline only at the time of check-in.

Hotel Requests (STPC) Tripmia cannot confirm the provision of transit hotel accommodation provided by the airline. Confirmation of this service can only be provided by the airline. Transit hotel will only be offered by the airline if no other onward flight is available before the chosen flight.

Travel Insurance

Tripmia strongly advises that travellers take out travel insurance for their bookings.

Tripmia is affiliated with CoverMore Travel Insurance; you can purchase your Travel Insurance directly on our website.

CoverMore is one of Australia's travel insurance specialists and has provided peace of mind for over a million travellers. CoverMore offers unlimited overseas emergency medical assistance and options are available for travellers with pre-existing medical conditions. Allianz underwrites CoverMore policies and arranged and managed by Mondial Assistance.

Currency

All prices quoted in the flight booking engine are in Australian dollars, regardless of where your requested flight is departing from.

Price Inclusions and Exclusions

Items included in the prices or rates of the products are specified in each section. Prices do not include, meals other than as stated in itineraries, any airfares unless stated, Government departure taxes, passport and visa charges, vaccination fees, airport taxes, any items of a personal nature such as telephone calls, beverages, laundry, excess baggage charges and gratuities, travel insurance or other items not specified.

Frequent Flyer Programs

Please enter your frequent flyer details at the time of booking. Tripmia will pass these details on to the relevant supplier/airline but cannot guarantee that the supplier will credit points for your booking. Please retain all boarding passes to allow verification of your travel if required.

Airport Fees

Please note certain airports are charging a user development fee on departure, this fee is directly paid at the counter. For information in this Airport Development Fee please contact the relevant Airport.

Goods and Services Tax

Prices quoted do not include goods and services tax or similar tax ("GST"). GST is payable by you in respect of any supply made to you, and in addition to the price payable. You must pay the amount of GST payable in respect of the supply. GST is payable at the same time and in the same manner as the price or at such later time as Tripmia may request.

Marketing

You agree upon booking or sign up that you will be automatically added to our email newsletter and SMS list for product and promotional updates. If you do not wish to continue to receive these SMS or newsletters, you will be given the option to unsubscribe or stop in the newsletter/SMS.
